If you have a passion for Japan and would like to consider helping one another spread that passion with the rest of the world, please contact me for collaboration opportunities.
Apart from my personal blogs, I write primarily for Voyapon, a website run by the Japanese travel media marketing company IGLOOO. I am also the editor of the English content and social media manager for the Voyapon Facebook page. IGLOOO clients include JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization) , JTB (Japan Travel Bureau), TCVB (Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau), and many other regional tourism organizations. My work has been redistributed internationally on various websites through collaboration with IGLOOO.
Recent examples of my writing and travel photography include:
From Sake to Whisky: How Historic Takehara City near Hiroshima Gave Birth to one of Japan’s Finest Spirits from a series of eight articles I wrote about touring the Chugoku region of Japan by bus.
The Summer Beauty of Korakuen, Okayama’s Premier Japanese Garden from a five article series on Okayama city.
I freelance as a portrait, event and travel photographer. My published work includes my own photo book, “Sheila Kimono Style“ (Tokai Edu 2018), as well as contributions to “The Social Life of Kimono” (Dr. Sheila Cliffe, Bloomsbury 2016) and “Hand in Hand: Crafting with Kids” (Jenny Doh, Lark Crafts 2012). I am also the photographer for the kimono research and blog, “Tansu Biraki – The Kimono Closet“.
